Vari-Lite Tours with Alejandro Fernandez

Lighting designer Jorge "El Tio" Garrido wasn't chicken when it came to lighting Alejandro Fernandez' 2003-2004 Nina Amada Mia tour. Garrido plucked the perfect colors from his Vari-Lite automated lighting rig, and combined them with custom gobo patterns and projection to create a distinctive look that ruled the roost.

Nestled in the lighting rig were 16 VL2000 Spot luminaires, 16 VL2000 Wash luminaires and 10 VL3000 Spot luminaires, all supplied by Procolor. The performance left audience members crowing for more. As such, fans are expected to flock to dates on the 2004 leg of the tour.

Fernandez' recent album, Nina Amada Mia, went platinum in Mexico. (His previous disc, Un Canto de Mexico went double platinum. The current tour, which began at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace in September, continued through November.
