Brussels-based EML Productions NV recently reported a major theft of Vari-Lite equipment stolen from a truck en route from Austria to Belgium. Sometime between the night of Wednesday, January 23 and Thursday, January 24, road cases containing 32 – Vari*Lite VL5 wash luminaires as well as cases containing cabling, repeaters, and accessories were stolen from the company's truck. The fixtures were in six black plastic Vari-Lite cases and the cable and accessories were in two gray plastic Vari-Lite cases. The theft was not discovered until the truck was being unloaded at the EML warehouse in Boortmeerbeek, Belgium.
EML Productions NV is offering a cash reward in the amount of Twelve Thousand Five Hundred Euro (€ 12,500.00) for information leading to the return of the VL5 system.
