Vari-Lite Rebrands VLPS

has announced the separate branding of its rental division, VLPS Lighting Services (formally Vari-Lite Production Services), with a new look to support its new inventory and broadened service base.

States CEO Rusty Brutsché, "As automated and conventional lighting have merged into fully integrated systems over recent years, clients look to us to provide complete lighting rental and production services. We have expanded our seven wholly-owned rental facilities to enable us to provide all aspects of the professional lighting services to serve the needs of our customers."

New operational changes allow account executives to focus more fully on clients while operational and production specialists provide support. "VLPS Lighting Services has international logistical coordination to provide services from any location, or multiple locations, for any size and type of event," continues Brutsché. "Clients can work with any account executive they prefer, regardless of market segment or location. VLPS Lighting Services has the largest, most experienced pool of event staff available including senior programmers, operators, project managers, crew chiefs, lead technicians, and technicians. From the largest rigs to the shortest time frame, they know how to make it happen."

With full-service facilities in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Nashville, New York, Orlando, London, and Tokyo, clients worldwide can procure all of their equipment requirements from VLPS. The company has made hardware and software upgrades to its entire automated lighting inventory to facilitate dry-hire rentals and to perform well in harsh applications. "Budgets are tight," notes Susan Tesh, general manager of VLPS Los Angeles. "Clients require a lot for their money. We have 14 different types of Vari*Lite automated fixtures and often add a variety of brands to our systems. Our extensive automated inventory allows us to work with designers to apply the right features for the job while working within their budgets."
