(Universal), a leading manufacturer of energy-efficient lighting technologies, announced that it has acquired selected assets, including all intellectual property, from the bankruptcy estate of Energy Savings, Inc. (ESI), a manufacturer of electronic lighting ballasts and dimming controls.

The ESI assets acquired by Universal Lighting include intellectual property, materials inventory, machinery and tooling. The acquisition of ESI’s intellectual property complements Universal’s existing product line and represents a significant addition to the company’s technology portfolio. Universal Lighting Technologies did not assume any liabilities of ESI.
