Tom Folsom Joins Epic Production Technologies

Marc Raymond, Ted Fowler and Brian Konechny have announced that Thomas Folsom has joined the Sales & Integration team at Epic Production Technologies. Folsom’s exceptional combination of conceptual, creative and management skills have shaped his impressive two-decade career in the professional lighting industry, including two years as head of the Strand Lighting division of Philips Electronics Group and six years as president of Electronics Diversified.

As an independent consultant to the County of Los Angeles, Folsom directly oversaw the design, development and renovation of the Mark Taper Forum—an award-winning $30-million, three-year renovation that was completed both on time and on budget. He has completed major projects in New York, Washington, Atlantic City, Houston, San Francisco, Argentina, Japan, China and Brazil. Folsom earned his Master’s Degree in Theatre History and Lighting at the University of Nebraska and completed a specialty program in Management at the Duke University School of Business.

Working directly with executive vice president Brian Konechny and vice president sales Larry Darling, Folsom will spearhead Epic’s initiative to expand its sales and integration presence in the U.S. and International markets. The company has already gained significant recognition for such high profile projects as the 4 custom interactive LED installations at the Microsoft Entertainment & Devices Campus in Redmond, Washington, The NOKIA (now Best Buy) Theatre in New York City, the NOKIA Theatre and Club NOKIA at LA LIVE in Los Angeles, Indigo at 02 London, WaMu Theatre at Quest Field in Seattle, the indoor/outdoor interactive lighting, rigging and video system for the Vancouver Canucks, and most recently 5 Towers, the high tech, interactive outdoor arena at Universal CityWalk.

Ted Doumazios, an industry veteran and long-time associate, will join Folsom and the Epic team, bringing his vast experience in lighting and theatrical infrastructure to the company. Doumazios, who began his career under the mentorship of the late Larry Kellermann and was most recently Sales Director with Lights Up Cue Sound, will continue to work from the New York area where he has a well-established client base.

“Epic’s reputation is built on the expertise of its outstanding talent pool and the company is thrilled to welcome these dynamic and highly respected professionals to the Sales & Integration division, adding that as technology becomes more and more complex, clients in this sector will increasingly rely on comprehensive, integrated turnkey solutions,” says Konechny.
