The International Communications Industries Association (ICIA) Board of Governors has announced that Steven J. Thorburn, PE, principal, Thorburn Associates, Inc., has received its highest honor by being appointed to a second two-year term as an ICIA Senior Academy Faculty member.
Thorburn has received this honor for his past instruction, and future participation, in the educational programs provided by ICIA. He receives this honor along with a select few of his peers. In recognition of his status, ICIA will publish his name in the Academy Directory, include him on the ICIA newsletter story on ICIA faculty, and list his name on the ICIA website.
Thorburn is a co-founder of Thorburn Associates, an acoustical consulting and audiovisual system design engineering firm with offices in Castro Valley, CA, Burbank, CA, and Raleigh-Durham, NC. The firm works on corporate, residential, medical, live performances, education, and themed entertainment projects.
Thorburn writes a leisure entertainment series for System Contractor News, and has received several awards from ICIA for systems and facilities design.
