Third Annual RIGZ! At LDI 2026

LDI 2026 presents the third annual edition of RIGZ! - two days of intensive rigging sessions programmed in conjunction with expert riggers Tracy Nunnally, Eric Rouse, and Derek Epstein, for all riggers, facility managers, technical directors, designers, and all those interested in the ins and outs of rigging safety and practices. The two days include in-depth sessions featuring industry experts as well as a complimentary reception with food and beverages on Saturday evening. 

RIGZ provides 9 ETCP renewal credits and great training for those seeking ETCP certification.

Saturday, December 5 (Day 1):

9:00am-9:15am: Welcome 

9:15-10:00am: Keynote 

 10am-11:30am: Advanced Application of Load Cells in Entertainment Rigging: This session examines real-world applications of load cells in entertainment rigging, focusing on system selection, data interpretation, limitations, and risk management through practical case studies from live event and theatrical environments.

11:30am-12:00pm: ETCP rigging certification presentation

12pm-1pm: Lunch

1pm-2:15pm: Cruise Ship Rigging: A panel discussion exploring unique challenges and best practices of ship-based rigging

2:15-2:30pm: Short Break

2:30pm-3:30pm: Automation Building Blocks: An introduction to automation concepts, terminology, and practical ways to integrate automation into live events and theatrical productions.

3:30pm-5:00pm: Floor Loading: There is a lot of misinformation about how floor loading works, including the understanding of pounds per square foot

5:00pm-5:30: Wrap Up

6pm-8pm: Evening reception

  1. Mini Motor School: Multi-vendor hands-on demonstrations with ground-supported truss setup.
  2. Rigging Math: Practical rigging calculations and field-expedient methods for solving common problems without software or mobile applications.

 1. Truss Deep Dive: An in-depth look at truss design, loading considerations, common configurations, and practical field applications. With Keith Bohn and Jeff Reder.

2.  Fall Arrest: Hands-on fall protection and rescue scenarios led by Sapsis Rigging, including a certificate of attendance upon completion
