Super Vision Appoints New Director of Sign Division Sales

Super Vision International Inc.

, a world leader in LED and fiber-optic lighting, announced that it has hired a former executive of one of its main competitors to take over as director of sales for its sign division. Carlo A. Mione took on the position this month after previously serving as a founding partner and senior vice president of marketing for DuraLed Lighting Technologies in Irvine, CA, a manufacturer of LED lighting systems in the sign industry. Mione served previously with several nationally known restaurant chains including Sonic, Sambos, and Del Taco over the past 30 years.

"I became convinced that Super Vision had the best product and the best solution for replacing neon in the sign industry. After seeing its products at its booth at the last International Sign Association show in Las Vegas, I decided to do more than just walk across the aisle and visit, I decided to join the team," states Mione. Brett Kingstone, CEO of Super Vision, says, "Carlo has been well known in the industry for developing sales and applications of LED technologies to major restaurant and national store chain accounts. He brings a tremendous amount of experience and industry contacts to our sales team."

Super Vision's LED product line serves as an energy-efficient, low-maintenance, and safe alternative to high-voltage neon systems. The average neon system requires 15,000V crossing the transformer, while the Super Vision FlexLED system only uses 12V transformers and requires less than one-third the time for installation by sign manufacturers. Neon is also rated among the top causes of restaurant, retail store, and hotel fires in the United States. The dramatic reduction in energy and maintenance costs are also a big advantage to end users in the commercial building field from restaurants to shopping malls. Mione's responsibility will be to lead Super Vision's sales efforts to sign manufacturers nationwide.
