Soundcraft Appoints UREI DJ Product Specialist Team

Pro audio console manufacturer Soundcraft has recently established a UK-based team to handle its new range of UREI-branded DJ mixer products.

Paul Morrissey joins Soundcraft as product manager for UREI and has already been responsible for finalizing the specs on several new products, including the 1620LE, 1601, and 1601S launched at NAMM. In addition to having years of experience with several leading DJ mixer companies, Morrissey is, himself, an active circuit DJ and therefore very familiar with market requirements.

Also new to Soundcraft is Darren Elliott who now serves as key accounts sales manager with prime responsibility for the UK DJ market. He has more than 10 years of experience exclusively within the DJ industry, and has worked in retail operations, manufacturing and distribution.

Elliott worked with Morrissey at their previous company and the two are very excited about this new direction for Soundcraft. "Soundcraft had a brief entry into the DJ market some years ago, but bringing the UREI name back with these new products gives us instant familiarity to the DJ," notes Morrissey. "Our recent NAMM launches provide the best of analog in the 1620LE and advanced new digital mixing capabilities in the 1601 and 1601S. This is the start of a whole new era for Soundcraft and UREI products."

Soundcraft is a leading British manufacturer of professional mixing consoles and devices for live, broadcast, theatre, recording, and DJ markets. The company's products are distributed in the US by Harman Pro North America (HPNA), which also distributes products for Studer. HPNA is a subsidiary of Harman International.
