Smerbeck Joins StageLight

Lighting industry veteran Jim Smerbeck has joined the StageLight organization, a Houston, TX-based lighting systems, supply, and service company, as general manager of the company's newly incorporated third stocking office, StageLight Tennessee, based in Nashville. He can be reached at [email protected].

Smerbeck has been working in the lighting industry for 17 years, beginning in 1985 producing and developing training films for the US Army. From 1989 to 1992 he worked for Barbizon Capitol where he was responsible for outside sales in the Washington, DC, area. Smerbeck then joined Colortran's Lee Filters division from 1992 to 1995 first as the Southern regional manager in Orlando, FL, and later as national sales manager based in Burbank, CA. For the last seven years he was national sales director for Bandit Lites.

"StageLight has superior customer and manufacturer relations, which I am only too happy to be associated with," comments Smerbeck. "The company and I have the same focus of selling top-quality service and products. I'm very excited to be part of the StageLight team and look forward to continuing the company's success here in Nashville."

"I am particularly happy to have Jim Smerbeck on our Nashville team," says StageLight founder and owner, Jerome Dunn. "I first met Jim about 10 years ago when he was the rep for Lee Filters, and StageLight was just starting out in the famous 'little house in Montrose.' Looking back, it is interesting to see how our paths have crossed and finally has culminated with us working on the same team!"
