SMART reduces price of interactive whiteboard

SMART Technologies Inc. recently announced a 15% decrease in the price of its award-winning Rear Projection SMART Board 3000i interactive whiteboard. Effective immediately, the new suggested retail price is $16,999. Educational institutions may qualify for a grant worth 25% of the suggested retail price through the SMARTer Kids(TM)Foundation. The grant amount may be applied against the retail price quoted by an authorized reseller.

The 3000i is powered by award-winning SMART Board software. By pressing on the interactive whiteboard's touch-sensitive surface, users can access and control projected computer applications, annotate over applications and save those notes to a computer file.

The 3000i features integrated audio, an integrated projection system with a 2500 lumen projector and a 67" diagonal screen. With a depth of only 29 1/4" and a sleek, tapered shape, the 3000i fits easily into room corners, minimizing required space. Since its release in June 2000, the 3000i has received several awards including the Innovations Award at NeoCon World's Trade Fair, awarded by Buildings and Buildings Interiors magazines.

"SMART has earned its reputation as the market leader in interactive whiteboards by consistently setting industry standards for value, quality and service," says Nancy Knowlton, president and COO of SMART Technologies Inc. "With the recent 3000i price decrease, we continue to offer the most reliable, feature-rich rear-projection interactive whiteboard on the market at an even more attractive price."

Both education and corporate customers increasingly rely on distance collaboration tools, and products that facilitate interactivity between people in different locations are in high demand. The 3000i has proven to be an ideal platform for the integration of various data and videoconferencing applications.
