SIEL Celebrates 20th Anniversary, February 3-6, 2002 in Paris

SIEL 2002, the annual French trade show for entertainment and leisure technology, celebrates its 20th anniversary February 3-6, 2002 at the Porte de Versailles exhibition hall in Paris. The theme for this year’s event is " one show, three worlds ". As the universe of SIEL expands, the show presents technology in three different areas, The first is the world of “spectacle” for all forms of live performance. Second, the nightclubs and discotheques that create the “night” world. And third is the world of “events,” including public activities that take place everywhere from the streets to shopping centers, bars, restaurants, and hotels, as the entertainment industry in France and Europe expands beyond the walls of theatres, opera houses, and theme parks.

While primarily a French show, SIEL attracts many visitors from the UK as well as other European countries, and certainly Paris is a great city to witness entertainment technology at work. There are a number of fabulous venues to visit, from the Chatelet and the Théâtre de la Ville to Opera Bastille and La Comédie Française. And let’s not forget all the technology going into the second gate at Disneyland Paris, as it gets ready to open this spring.

Show hours for SIEL are 10:00am – 7:00pm on Sunday and Monday, February 3 and 4; 10:00am – 9:00pm with special “night” hours on Tuesday, February 5, and 10:00am – 6:00pm on Wednesday, February 6.

Special events and a few workshops take place throughout SIEL, the annual get together for entertainment technology industry professionals in France, and many of their international friends.
