Show Department Opens Netherland's Facility

U.S.-based, Show Department, Inc. (SDi) has opened a Netherlands hub to offer equipment and show management to companies requiring staging services in European markets. The new venture is aimed at streamlining the proposal process and providing venues throughout Europe with a level of equipment and technical support consistent with SDi’s U.S. operation.

The new location provides a rental inventory of audio, video, lighting and staging equipment; show management and labor expertise; projection screens, drapery systems, modular scenic systems and a projection screen cleaning and repair service. The location also serves as a sales, rental and distribution center for The Screen Works, the projection screen division of Show Department, Inc.

The new Hoofddorp location (outside Amsterdam) provides staging professionals with convenient, centralized access to equipment and resources while dramatically reducing cumbersome turnaround times commonly associated with overseas shipments. Show Department President, Lee Facklis explains, “The Netherlands operation allows us to manage equipment resources, accelerate turn around times and deliver a consistent level of service. Customers will see a direct benefit in responsiveness and cost reduction”.

Overseeing the new venture will be Gabriel West, a longstanding member of the SDi management team. Mr. West has relocated from the Chicago-based location, accepting the position of European Operations Manager – Netherlands.

Show Department was founded in 1983 and has become a leading supplier of complete show staging services for corporations, associations and entertainment clients across the United States and throughout international markets. SDi supplies comprehensive show management; video, HDTV, multi-image, multi-screen and wide-screen shows; audio environments and sound delivery systems; conventional and moving light technologies; modular sets, projection screens and drapery.
