Rufus Warren To Teach LD Assistant 04 In The 2004 LDInstitute

Rufus Warren, of Design & Drafting a long-time ETS-LDI exhibitor, will be part of the LDInstitute again this year, offering three one-day courses for LD Assistant, a software package for lighting designers based on a 2D/3D Autodesk AutoCAD program. The course will be offered from 9:00am-5:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, October 19, 20, or 21 as part of the 2004 LDInstitute. The cost is $295 in advance, or $395 after the pre-registration cut-off date (lunch and breaks included). The class is hands-on, with a limit of 16 people (one person per computer).

The course will teach the basics of Design and Drafting's newest release, LD Assistant 04, with bi-directional communication, built-in console, and real-time show visualization. Students will learn to create light plots, create animation, presentations, and control of lighting systems: control dimmers, automated fixtures, motorized curtain tracks, counterweights, chain hoists, and consoles from within the program. Also advanced DMX and Ethernet control with lighting and rendering tools. Attendees must have basic computer skills.

The target audience for this class includes anyone into lighting design; lighting professionals who want better ways to design lighting; designers who want to create more engaging experiences for their clients.

Highpoints of the instruction include:
1. an understanding of the LD Assistant/AutoCAD Interface;
2. to create a lighting plot;
3. to create high-end presentations;
4. to use the new build-in real-time Visualizer;
