Rocky Mountain Theatre Association Festival Announced For 2009

The Fort Lewis College Theatre is proud to host the 2009 Rocky Mountain Theatre Association Festival on February 4, 5, 6, and 7. During the four-day event, conference attendees will participate in hands-on workshops covering all aspects of theatre production including directing, acting, design, stage management, criticism, playwriting, and more. The event also includes scholarship and employment auditions and competitions in acting, design, musical theatre, and theatre technology. Each day concludes with a theatrical or dance performance featuring work by theatre companies from throughout the Rocky Mountain Region. All of these experiences are designed to help theatre artists in the region grow and develop their skills and careers. In addition, this year's event will include a fee workshop with master artist Kari Margolis, creator of the Margolis Methodtm.

The festival is open to anyone interested in the performing arts including theatre, dance, music, and opera. Typical attendees include youth, high school, college, and community theatre groups located in the Rocky Mountain Region. This includes Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming. Due to the location of this year's event, residents from New Mexico and Arizona are also welcome to attend.

As one of the nation's oldest theatre associations, the RMTA is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of performing arts throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.
