Rock Lititz To Launch Academy Of Live Technology

Since 2014, Rock Lititz has grown to encompass many organizations in addition to entertainment staging and automation fabricator, TAIT, one of the companies, along with professional sound manufacturer Clair Brothers, that established the production facility. At the moment, Rock Lititz offers studios, manufacturing facilities, and large-scale rehearsal space, and a hotel, but the 96-acre campus will soon be home to the new Academy of Live Technology (ALT).

ALT is expected to open to students in mid-2024. Created in conjunction with the Lancaster, PA-based Pennsylvania College of Art & Design (PCA&D)  and the UK-based Academy of Live Technology at Production Park, ALT will offer an accredited four-year BFA in Live Event Design.

In a statement, Rock Lititz said, “The goal is to support an alternative, experience-driven approach to the college experience, while improving the level of access and training available within the live event industry.”

ALT will offer 22,400 square feet of classrooms, production space, digital labs, and a common gathering area for students, and its location in a campus where the biggest names in the industry gather to create and rehearse will offer a unique experience for students.

Applications are open for fall 2023, and successful candidates will begin classes at PCA&D before moving to ALT.
