Richard Cadena Presents Power For Live Events

Scott C Parker and Stage Seminars announce the Event Technicians Resource Group launch or its Training Program with subject expert Richard Cadena. Richard will be presenting his workshop covering Power for Live Events on Monday, May 17th at 1 pm. The four-hour session Basic Power Distribution for Audio, Video, and Lighting will cover (1) Circuits and Circuit Laws; (2) Grounding and Bonding; (3) Electrical Safety; (4) Audio, Video, and Lighting Power Distribution; (5) “Clean Power” – Reducing and Eliminating Buzzes and Hums.

Richard explains, “Electricity and portable power distribution can be hazardous if it is not set up and operated by trained, qualified people. Understanding electric circuits, power distribution, grounding and bonding, and other aspects of powering up audio, video, and lighting systems are the key to providing clean power. Tracking down and eliminating noises, hums, and buzzes, and safely resolving issues that can interfere with a live or online presentation.”

Richard Cadena is an ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician and an ETCP Recognized Trainer with 31 years of experience in the entertainment lighting industry. He is the author of Electricity for Entertainment Electricians & Technicians, 3rd Edition; Automated Lighting: The Art and Science of Moving Light, 2nd Edition. Richard is also the technical editor for PLASA Media and a columnist for Lighting & Sound America, Lighting & Sound International, and Protocol magazines. As a freelance lighting designer and lighting consultant, he has worked on concert tours, television, theater, and motion picture productions. He has designed dozens of lighting systems for permanent installations.
