The Catholic Church's Legion of Christ organization staged its 2002 Youth and Family Encounter, featuring workshops and Christian entertainment for the entire family, on July 13-14 at the Baltimore Convention Center. Lighting and staging was designed by Frank Gatto & Associates of Boca Raton, FL, and supplied by Circuit Lighting of Green Brook, NJ.
Secoa stage deck sections with aluminum understructure were used for the 60'x80' two-level stage. A custom-made grand staircase created a dramatic focal point. Lighting included four High End Systems Cyberlights, four High End Studio Colors, ETC Source Four PARs and ellipsoidals, 144x2.4kW dimmers, 14 Coffing Hoists motors, and Total Structures trussing. Circuit Lighting master electrician and moving light programmer David Zeffren programmed for the musical entertainment and for the quieter church-like setting needed for Mass and during the workshops.
