Publisher, meet executive director

Jim McCullaugh, publisher of American Cinematographer Magazine, has been named executive director of the publication's parent body, the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC). In his expanded management role, McCullaugh will oversee the building of a campus and museum surrounding the ASC's Hollywood clubhouse.

McCullaugh, who came to American Cinematographer in 1997, after a tenure as home entertainment editor of Billboard Magazine, also heads up The ASC Press, the organization's book publishing division. Recently honored with an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Award of Commendation for its American Cinematographer Manual, The ASC Press will continue to operate under McCullaugh's guidance, as will the magazine.
