ProductionEAST, said to be the East Coast's first tradeshow geared to the film, television, commercial, and music video industries in four years, will be held October 30 and 31, 2002 at New York's Jacob Javits Convention Center. The event, produced by Link Exhibitions, LLC, and sponsored by Panasonic and Discreet, a digital production company, will encompass both exhibition and conference program components. Exhibitors are expected to include manufacturers of lighting equipment, cameras, and lenses, as well as rental companies, location services, and others.
Not since the late 90s, when ShowBiz Expo East was last held in New York, has such an event been seen here. Lack of exhibitor and attendee interest has seemingly been the reason for the gap, but perhaps the post-9/11 mood of resurgence in the city will benefit ProductionEAST.
