Pio Nahum Returns to Italy

Martin Professional

's Pio Nahum, for the past seven years international marketing director for Martin Professional A/S, has decided to return permanently to Italy to be closer to his family and to concentrate on Martin's business in the Italian market. For the past two years Nahum has effectively managed the dual responsibilities of group marketing director at Martin Professional A/S with that of managing director of Martin Professional Italy SpA. His enormous contribution also included five years of service as Martin's international sales director as well as a stint as acting CEO of Martin UK.

Nahum commented, "After spending so many years working abroad, far away from my family, I felt the need to put some order into my life. My work at the Martin headquarters in Denmark has been very exciting, but at the same time I did not have the pleasure of staying with my two first children. Now I have a new daughter who I've really fallen in love with, and I want to be there as she grows up. I don't think my wife and the rest of my family will mind seeing a bit more of me either.

"I appreciate the fact that Martin has given me this opportunity to be the full-time managing director of our Italian subsidiary. In the last 18 months the company has been completely reorganized and we now have a solid and effective team. I look forward to placing my full concentration on my home market which, due to the high concentration of competitors, is one of the most challenging."

Nahum relinquished his responsibility as international marketing director of Martin Professional A/S effective May 1, 2003, but his wealth of experience in the intelligent lighting industry will still be widely available to the headquarters in Denmark, as he has been called to serve on Martin's corporate marketing strategy and new product steering committees.

President and CEO of Martin Professional, Kristian Kolding, will assume Nahum's international marketing directorship duties. He acknowledged the effort Nahum put forth in his dual role. "The two positions, in Italy and Denmark, have required a great deal of commitment and hard work on Pio's behalf, not to mention the challenges of managing an office in two countries. The Italian market will certainly benefit from the increased focus and extensive experience Pio provides, and we are certain that this new structure will be beneficial to Martin Professional, and to his family as well."
