Peter Miles, formerly director of The Spot Co. and Flying Pig Systems, has joined Coemar UK as a non-executive director. It is Miles' first foray back into the business since The Spot Co. was sold to PRG, and he will retain his pre-existing shareholdings.
Miles and Coemar UK head Ian Kirby have remained in close touch in recent years. "Peter's knowledge and experience will not only provide a valuable input of ideas but will help us establish greater links with the rock-and-roll world."

The Spot Co. had been one of the first companies to buy the Coemar NAT, and Miles has a long personal relationship with the brand. "I've been bouncing ideas round with Ian for the past couple of years during which time the industry has changed quite significantly," said Miles. "There is a lot more optimism than there was last year, with some customers finding a slightly different niche to operate in.
"Coemar has a new range of lighting and accessories to service these requirements and Ian has put together a family of dealerships which is both exciting and new," Miles continued. "A lot of thought has clearly gone into these products, which are sensibly priced, and that will appeal to the rental companies. I therefore look forward to taking an active roll in strategy planning, and bringing my 15 years' experience in the business to bear."
"There are a lot of door-opening opportunities for Peter, and not simply in rock and roll," Kirby concluded. "His appointment is a recognition of the fact that we know we are playing at the top end of the scale."
