Permlight Announces Latest Developments

Permlight, a provider of energy-efficient LED lighting solutions, recently announced a number of new developments involving partnerships, patents, and personnel.

Permlight Products delivered a solid state lighting product it developed for Philips Lighting Company to be used in the upcoming Holiday Snowflake Display project for Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City. Permlight provided application, design and fabrication services to produce almost 5 miles of LED lighting for use in specially made giant snowflakes that will be the highlight of a new Saks Holiday attraction at its flagship Fifth Avenue store.

Permlight also announced that the US Patent Office has issued a Certificate of Correction adding 21 claims to Permlight's patent 6,712,486 entitled Mounting Arrangement for Light Emitting Diodes. "These additional claims even more fully establish Permlight as the industry leader in thermally managed LED lighting systems," says Manuel Lynch, president and CEO, Permlight Products. "We continue to push the brightness envelope up and the cost of products down thanks in part to our patented thermal management approach to LED lighting systems."

Duraled Lighting Technologies Corp. has signed a letter of intent to license Permlight's patented thermal management technology for use in its upcoming bright white LED lighting product. Permlight's thermal management technology is protected by US Patent Nos. 6,578,986 and 6,712,486, and other pending patent applications.

Finally, Wayne Kiser has joined Permlight Products, Inc. as purchasing and production manager. Kiser's experience in the sign industry spans 20 years. For the past ten years, Kiser headed up purchasing for the award winning Superior Signs of Long Beach, CA. Prior to that he was in purchasing and production for Sign Resources, a high volume sign company in the Los Angeles area.
