Papaco Joins Daktronics

Daktronics Inc. announces the appointment of Rudy Papaco to a sales position in Anaheim, CA, for the mobile and modular video group, a distinct division of Daktronics that serves the needs of the rental and staging industry.

Papaco will work extensively with customers to provide them with an integrated solution consisting of high-end display products and services that include retrofitting, installation supervision, project-specific staff training and supplemental equipment support.

Papaco was director of operations for the Association of Volleyball Professionals before becoming the director of logistics and transportation for ScreenWorks, a large mobile video screen provider. With ScreenWorks, Papaco was involved with the XIX Winter Games, Salt Lake City, 2002, the Academy Awards, 2003, the Rolling Stones SARS Benefit Concert, Toronto, 2003, the Super Bowl, 2004, and the Times Square Ball Drop, 2004. As technical supervisor for the Federation Internationale de Volleyball, he managed the beach volleyball competition in 1996 at the Atalanta Olympic Games.

“I know from experience that the rental and staging market has tremendous growth potential, and Daktronics is excited to be a part of that by providing the displays and services that the industry is looking for,” Papaco says. Papaco is the Mobile and Modular Video Group’s first regional staff member and his appointment indicates Daktronics commitment to support customers with area personnel, in addition to services provided from headquarters in Brookings, SD, Papaco’s appointment in Anaheim, is a logical choice due to the high concentration of rental and staging companies in the state serving the market.

Daktronics formed the Mobile and Modular Video Group in 2004 to provide customers who purchase ProTour modular LED display systems and mobile ProStar® LED systems, as well as other mobile display solutions.
