PALA Opts for Malaysia in 2004

IIR Exhibitions has announced that Malaysia will host the trade show PALA in 2004. Results of a survey showed the majority of exhibitors preferred the show to be in Malaysia, rather than Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore (although Pala will be held in Singapore in 2005).

Malaysia, according to the company's release, is a good choice for PALA for many reasons, not least being the number of major development projects including shopping malls, entertainment complexes, commercial venues, schools and educational institutions.

Rosalind Ng-Seah, deputy managing director, commented "There is a very lively nightlife in Malaysia; in fact Kuala Lumpur has one of the liveliest in Asia. With a generous number of radio stations, TV stations, recording studios, amusement parks/sports stadiums and many concerts held, Malaysia provides exciting business opportunities previously untapped by PALA. We are looking forward to presenting exhibitors with a new audience".

There are no comparable competitive events in Malaysia, giving PALA an opportunity to access the Malaysian market. The decision has the widespread support of exhibitors, the trade press and industry associations.

PALA, known as the event in South East Asia for pro audio and lighting (incorporating AV, music, broadcast, installations and systems integration) will be from 15-17 July 2004.
