The Outer Critics Circle Award nominations were just announced and Wicked leads the pack with 10 total nominations, followed by the revival of Fiddler on the Roof with six. Avenue Q was in the running last year but it has been honored with a special award this year.
The 54th annual honors will be announced May 3 and presented at a ceremony at Sardi's Restaurant, May 27. The awards, known as the first awards of the season, are decided upon by an group of writers "covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway."
