What started as a pandemic-era project has seen Robe Lighting influencer Louise Stickland travel the world interviewing creatives about their challenges and inspirations.
In the third edition of Live Design's regular check-in with the OnLocation team, Stickland talks to technical director Ola Melzig as he returns to his hometown to take the reins on the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden. Eurovision technical director and “guru” Ola Melzig is back in charge of all ‘show’ elements for this year’s broadcast, which returns to Malmo Arena with the final on May 11th. Apart from 11 being Ola’s lucky number, it is 11 years since 2013, when the event was previously staged at same venue. Shooting from the hip as always, Ola talks to us about the major impact of Eurovision on his life and career.

It was our eye-catching backdrop when chatting to PWL‘s founder and artistic director Luc Peumans, who gave up some time for OnLocation, sharing his journey from high school dance performer to entertainment and architainment lighting, show and technical director.
