New Roles and New Faces at The White Light Group

Complementing the recently-announced changes to the staff of White Light Hire, the White Light Group is pleased to announce one further change of position and two more new appointments.

Changing roles is Richard Wilson, White Light's long-serving operations director. Having spent many years, as he describes it, "making the practical side of getting the lights out of the door work," he is now moving to the position of business development director, working to introduce The White Light Group to new clients and new areas of business.

"Richard's record of making the sharp end of our business work is well proven - after all, however much we promise it means nothing unless we actually get the right lights out at the right time!" comments Bryan Raven, The White Light Group's General Manager. "Having successfully established new working methods for our warehouse in the two years since our move to Wimbledon from Fulham, Richard was looking for a new challenge - so now we're letting him make the promises to customers rather than just delivering on them!"

New to the White Light Group is Andrew Stringer, who has joined White Light Sales as Sales Office Manager, working alongside Sales Director Peter Threadgold and the rest of the team. Stringer joins White Light Sales from Stage Electrics and after a brief stint in Canada, from where he is returning to get married later in the year. Prior to his time there he spent several years working at Cerebrum in London. "We are delighted that Andrew has agreed to join us," comments Peter Threadgold. "Having worked with him at Cerebrum I am greatly looking forward to renewing our successful working relationship and continuing to build the success of White Light Sales."

Joining the White Light Group management team is Aubs Tredget, in the newly created position of Marketing Manager. In this position, he will oversee marketing for every part of The White Light Group. Aubs has a great deal of marketing experience, gained both inside and outside the entertainment lighting industry in the UK and Australia. "He's also the first marketing person I've spoken to who has said things simply in English rather than in marketing-speak," explains Bryan Raven. "That was very refreshing! I think this means that Aubs will fit in well with White Light's approach to getting the job done, and I am looking forward to working with him as he develops this new role within the Group."

Founded in 1971, the White Light Group is now one of the leading suppliers of lighting equipment to the entertainment industry in the UK and beyond, employing almost 100 people at its bases in Wimbledon, South London and Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire, and with an annual turnover of around £9million. The White Light Group includes leading lighting rental company White Light Hire, sales specialist White Light Sales, automated lighting supplier The Moving Light Company, White Light Events which provides lighting design and services for parties and events, and Colourhouse, providing lighting for conferences and corporate shows.
