The MUSIC Act Update: June 24, 2022

Friends,

Today the House passed a bill known as Keep Kids Fed Act. It is a 100% clean bill presented to the Senate and a deal has been stuck to pass it there.

The House version would reallocate all the SVOG money to the $3 billion dollar Keep Kids Fed Act. Senators Blackburn and Hagerty have negotiated a deal with Senators Stabenow and Bozeman as a compromise which will allow the Keep Kids Fed Act to reallocate $500,000 from SVOG, based on an agreement to pass the remaining $1.5 billion in The MUSIC Act. Keep Kids Fed Act would reallocate the other $2.5 billion from other shuttered COVID bills.

The agreement in principle is that Congress will pass The MUSIC Act as part of the next Appropriations Bill which will likely occur in August. This is how DC works, everything is a deal and a compromise.

Senator Paul wants to block all COVID related bills and return all the money to the treasury but we believe we have an agreement that he will NOT block The MUSIC Act.

I apologize for all of this time and confusion, but this is how DC works, there is always an angle. This is The MUSIC Act angle for now. I will not give up.

Thank you for your patience and stay tuned.

Be safe,
