Morris Architects Announces Promotions

Morris Architects

is pleased to announce the promotion of Dave Droescher and Ricardo Galbis to the position of senior associate and the promotion of Bill Cunningham, Wade Fischer, Scott Martin, Kathryn Peters, and Jim Younglove to the position of associate.

Dave Droescher joined Morris Architects upon graduating from Oklahoma State University in May 1999. Droescher is currently serving as project architect for Wannado @ Sawgrass Mills, a 140,000-sq.-ft. children’s educational amusement center.

Ricardo Galbis, a graduate from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Architecture joined Morris Architects in 1997. Galbis is currently serving as project architect for Fairfield Grand Desert in Las Vegas, Nevada. Other recent projects include the Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando, and Ocean Walk Shoppes in Daytona Beach.

Bill Cunningham, a graduate from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Masters of Architecture degree joined Morris Architects five years ago. As one of the key project designers for leisure projects, Cunningham was one of a six-person team that won the International Design Competition for Beihai Silver Beach Resort Master Planning Project.

Wade Fischer, associate studio director for the Hospitality Studio, joined Morris Architects in 1999. Fischer is currently serving as project manager for The Plaza at the Orlando Lutheran Towers. Other recent projects include the Wyndham Casa Marina Resort in Key West, Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa in Lake Buena Vista, FL, and Fairfield Grand Desert Resort in Las Vegas.Fischer is a graduate from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies.

Scott Martin joined the firm in 1994 and holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of South Florida. Martin has served as a design team member for a number of well known projects including Daytona USA, Emeril’s Restaurant Orlando, Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone, and the Ocean Walk Shoppes, which opened in December 2002. Martin recently achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification as part of Morris Architects’ green initiative.

Kathryn Peters joined Morris Architects in 1999. She has served as project manager for the firm’s work on Fairfield Sedona, Fairfield Cypress Palms, Fairfield Ocean Ridge at the Village, and Fairfield Alexandria. Peters holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Business/Restaurant & Hotel Management.

Jim Younglove, a graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design joined Morris Architects in 1995. He has recently provided project management for a new Walt Disney World EPCOT attraction. Younglove has also provided architectural design and project management for a variety of entertainment, resort, hotel, office and retail projects.
