Skerritt, formerly LA based, has moved to Seattle to play a more central creative role at Mode’s Northwest studios. “The addition of Matt was win-win,” comments Mode CEO and executive producer Colleen Bonniol. “Matt has a tremendous body of video work with phenomenal clients and his fantastic grasp of directing live multi-camera production adds a whole new business model for Mode Studios.”
With the addition of Skerritt’s live directing experience, Mode Studios is announcing it’s full capacity to plan, design, produce, and complete post-production on live DVD and documentary materials. Already in stores as a result of this collaboration is Cartel’s new Live From Atlanta DVD.
Skerritt is also taking a lead role in consulting on all incoming Mode projects as a principle creative.
Since beginning his career in film and video production as an actor in 1980, Skerritt has served as a development executive, screenwriter, and ultimately as a director and shooter, servicing the music and film industries with great success. Live concert video production is an area of special interest for him, as a musician and as a director well schooled in the art of multi-camera production techniques.
Skerritt has shot and directed promotional work for artists like Madonna, Eric Clapton, and Destiny’s Child and has done DVD and broadcast long-form work for artists including The Dixie Chicks, Chris Botti, INXS, Matisyahu, Cartel, Darren Hayes, and Natasha Beddingfield. He also has directed and produced DVD programming for non-music entities, including the first season of NBC/Universal’s The Apprentice, Honey, The Hulk, and Animal House.

With their particular place in design and production, we each had so much to add to the other’s capabilities. I now have built-in, unbelievable art direction, and I can bring that to the director’s view, it makes for a real intuitive process in getting great pictures live.”
