Randy Mayer, the director of concert touring at Screenworks NEP, died suddenly on August 2 at the age of 48.
Mayer, a member of the Screenworks family since 2010, had previously worked as west coast regional sales manager for both Barco and High End Systems.
A fundraiser has been set up by Mayer's sister-in-law for his wife, Jocelyn, and two sons, West and Van.
Creative director Bob Bonniol of MODE Studios told Live Design, "Randy was a true friend, both to me, and to PRODUCTION. He was always ready to extend a favor for the small art projects. He was also ready to deploy the full power of Screenworks to support ambitious "never been done before" scale. The most precious part was what came in between. I knew I would be talking to Randy every couple of weeks. Because, show or no, he just wanted to know how I was, how the family was... The entire MODE gang is just gutted, and our hearts go out to Jocelyn, West, and Van. We've lost a giant... They've lost something far more important. A wonderful father and husband."
Patrick Dierson, president at The-Activity, worked with Mayer including at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami, said of him, "We tend to categorize our industry colleagues by their business acumen but when it came to Randy, everyone knew him firstly as an adoring father and husband. He always put his family before all else and our hearts go out to his wife and children at this devastating time.”
Jordan Bradley, senior technical engineer at Monolith Studios, commented on Facebook, "Rest In Peace Randy. I miss you good sir. My prayers for you and your family. I am proud of the work I got to do for you and grateful for the opportunities you gave me."
