In Memoriam: Kim Foulkes

Kimberly Foulkes, of New York City-based Lighting Design Group, died on December 8. She was 47.

Foulkes received her degree in Communications from the University of Massachusetts and spent her entire career in television production. She started her own freelance production company, Composite Video, Inc., in 1982 and produced, shot, and edited productions for five years. She was a member of the development team for England’s first satellite TV system, British Satellite Broadcasting, and spent six years as a freelance field producer for WBBH-TV in Fort Myers, FL, where she won an Emmy Award. She was a central part of The Lighting Design Group for four years as a crew coordinator and office manager.

Foulkes is survived by her parents, Richard and Ruth Foulkes of Naples, FL and Martha’s Vineyard; her brother Mark; his wife Shelly, a niece and nephew, and the entire LDG team.
