Memorial Service For Adam Steyh On June 26

Adam Steyh, a member of the lighting scene in Las Vegas for many decades, passed away on Saturday, June 21.

A memorial service for Adam Steyh will be held on Thurday, June 26, 2008, at the Palm Morturary, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue in Las Vegas. General visiting is from 11:00am to 3:30pm, and general visiting, with family attendance from 3:30-6:30pm, followed by a prayer service and volunteer eulogies from 6:30-7:00pm. A toast will be held at Michael's Pub after the services at 4012 W. Rainbow (NE Corner of Flamingo/Rainbow).

Steyh was a “fixture” on the Las Vegas lighting scene for decades, working recently at PRG and The Wynn Resort. Tim Brennan, vice-president at PRG, says, “My father always said Adam was the best console and dimmer man around, and no one came more loyal. We will miss Adam, and will remember him Thursday in Las Vegas. Please take a moment to remember him wherever you are, maybe even grab a few tie wraps and break them into pieces and drop them around—he would like that.

We live in a world driven by technology, technology often scares people. Adam did a great job of making so many people understand something they didn’t and making them not afraid of technology. He did a wonderful job of providing someone with confidence with a new console, or rack, automated light or whatever. A good friend of mine once described Adam as having a bag of pixie dust he could sprinkle on any rack or console to make it work in those last minutes before the your most important show ever. Those emergencies don’t seem to happen as much anymore; and guys like Adam don’t seem to come around as much either.”
