McCale Joins Digidesign As Product Specialist For VENUE

Steve McCale has joined Digidesign as a product specialist for the Digidesign® VENUE live sound product line. Reporting to Ken DeLoria, Digidesign worldwide director of live sound sales, McCale is responsible for helping touring engineers and providing hands-on assistance to new customers. In addition, he is developing new products and training materials.

A 20-year touring veteran, McCale has mixed both front of house and monitors for acts such as U2, Chris Isaak, The Steve Miller Band, the London Symphony Orchestra, and others. His familiarity with all aspects of touring stems from his 15 years with Clair Brothers Audio. McCale’s most recent project was Shania Twain's Up world tour where he designed and programmed the most sophisticated audio system ever assembled for a live music tour, incorporating both live sound technology and Digidesign Pro Tools®.

“Steve McCale is a perfect fit for our product specialist position,” states DeLoria. “His combined experience of using Pro Tools and live sound technology, along with his extensive experience working for top acts, makes him uniquely qualified for the job. He is very well respected in the industry and his contributions will help ensure the success of Digidesign’s entry into live sound.”

“Digidesign VENUE will drastically change the way live sound engineers work,” states McCale. “Digidesign’s Pro Tools audio workstations had a profound impact on the recording industry, forever changing the way professionals produce audio. I’m hanging up my bus keys to join Digidesign because I want to be a part of what I believe to be the future of live sound.”

McCale is based in Kansas City, MO.
