Martin Professional A/S is pleased to welcome Mats Karlsson as technology manager for the company’s Visual Solutions business unit. Karlsson has more than 25 years of industry experience in lighting, and more recently in video, and joins Martin from Barco where he served as product manager for the company’s successful line of creative LED products.
Karlsson’s role at Martin will be to strengthen the technical and marketing foundation for products within Martin Visual Solutions, a business unit of the company created earlier this year to expand business opportunities and capitalize on the growing popularity of LED video screens. Martin recently introduced its LC Series of LED video screens, a semi-transparent, modular system of lightweight LED panels.
"Creative video and visualization is the new frontier and challenge for the lighting market, in the same way that automated lighting was in the late 1990s,” Karlsson comments. “Martin is ideally positioned to take advantage of this thanks to its strong market presence and streamlined manufacturing. I am very excited about having a key role in this new venture.”
Karlsson, a Swede who has been living in Belgium with his family for the past three years, will remain in Belgium with regular visits to Martin’s headquarter office in Aarhus, Denmark. He is a highly respected figure in the lighting industry, regularly contributing articles on LED, video etc., for industry periodicals and often appearing as a guest speaker at industry seminars.
