Marisa Davis Joins Design Partners, Inc.

Design Partners, Inc. (DPI), Hollywood's award-winning association of lighting designers and directors of photography, announced on July 1st the election of Marisa Davis to partner. She joins industry elites and company partners Greg Brunton, Kim Killingsworth, John Morgan, Lee Rose, Kirk Witherspoon, Olin Younger, Max Brenner, and Linda Korbel. Davis originally joined the company in January 2005 as a Lighting Designer.

DPI managing partner and director of operations, Linda Korbel, says she is thrilled with Davis' appointment as the company's ninth partner. "Marisa's deft eye for television lighting and her passion for the industry make her an ideal colleague and collaborator," she says. "She has a wonderful instinct for her craft and the lighting aesthetic."

Nominated for an Emmy® in both 2003 and 2004 for her work on The Ellen Degeneres Show, Davis has served as the show's lighting director since its 2003 premiere. Working freelance prior to joining DPI, Davis has a wide-range of television lighting design expertise, including stints on comedy, talk, variety and game show programs. She began her career at the The Oxygen Network and after two years there, joined the freelance ranks where she worked on shows including MADtv, Primetime Glick, and The Hollowmen. Davis is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild Local 600 and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (ATAS).

"Design Partners, originally The Klages Group Inc., represents three generations of the biggest names in lighting design innovation," comments Davis. "I am honored to share in that tradition and thrilled that the partners have asked me to join them."
