Mackie’s new control surface, Mackie Control, Now Supported by Steinberg

Mackie Designs Inc. announced recently that Steinberg has made support available for Mackie Control, Mackie’s newly released control surface, in the most current releases of their popular Nuendo, Cubase SX and Cubase SL audio software. Steinberg is the latest digital audio workstation (DAW) manufacturer to offer support for Mackie Control, joining a growing family that already includes Mackie Broadcast Professional Soundscape 32, Mackie Mixtreme and Mark Of The Unicorn’s Digital Performer.

“Having a touch-sensitive control surface complete with faders and buttons takes much of the frustration out of using a software-based DAW,” commented Keith Olsen, Corporate Director, Global Recording Market and Product Development at Mackie Designs Inc. “By integrating Mackie Control into their studios, Steinberg users will have much greater control over their powerful software than could ever have been achieved with a mouse and keyboard. We look forward to working with existing and future Steinberg users.”

Nuendo version 1.6.1 with Mackie Control support is currently available in both PC and Macintosh platforms. Existing Nuendo users can download the upgrade from www.nuendo.com along with a .pdf version of the manual. Existing Cubase users can download the SX version 1.03 and SL version 1.03 software updates at www.steinberg.net along with their .pdf manuals.
