LumaDeck Web Brings Browser-Native Live Visual Performance To Projection, Venues And Live Events

LumaDeck Web is a browser-native live visual instrument designed to turn real-time screen content into something that can be performed rather than simply played back.

Built for musicians, VJs, visual artists, venues and live-production environments, LumaDeck separates operation from presentation. The performer works from a dedicated Master environment containing scenes, layers, audio and beat reactivity, live effects, text and branding, local video, automation and MIDI control, while the audience receives an independent clean visual output suitable for projection, LED displays, secondary screens and video-production workflows.

The system is organized around three interconnected ways of working: Auto, Perform and Create.

Auto can conduct a continuous audio-reactive visual show without requiring constant manual operation. Perform gives the artist or operator immediate control over scenes, effects and MIDI-mapped parameters. Create allows local video and custom GLSL shaders to enter the same real-time reactive environment.

The three workflows are designed to coexist during a show. Automation can maintain visual continuity, the operator can intervene immediately when the performance requires it, and the system can then resume its reactive flow.

LumaDeck Web currently includes a catalog of 239 generative scenes, with 48 scenes available in the Free tier. Web Pro provides 94 MIDI-mappable targets across scene pads, moods, direct controls, video launchers and text cues, allowing physical MIDI controllers to become part of the visual-performance surface.

The platform also supports local video playback, custom GLSL shaders, real-time WebGL rendering, live post-processing and a local-first media workflow. User video, GLSL source and MIDI mappings remain on the user's device.

For professional video workflows, Web Pro can provide NDI output up to 1080p/30 through the local LumaDeck Output Bridge and the official NDI runtime.

“The starting point for LumaDeck was simple: visuals should be playable,” said Jaime Constán, creator of LumaDeck. “The performer needs a real control surface, while the audience should only see the visual composition. Once those two spaces are separated, the browser can become much more than a playback window.”

Although LumaDeck can be used directly by musicians and VJs, the same architecture extends to venues, clubs, projection environments, installations, corporate events and live-production scenarios where dynamic screen content needs to react and be operated in real time.

The core LumaDeck Web instrument runs in a compatible browser without requiring installation. The Free tier is available now, while Web Pro costs €9.99 per month or €79.99 per year. Optional visual collections are available as one-time purchases.

About LumaDeck

LumaDeck is a real-time visual performance platform built around the idea that visual content can behave as a live instrument. Its browser-based workflow combines generative graphics, audio and beat reactivity, MIDI control, local media, custom shaders and independent performer/audience outputs.
