Lightolier Awarded Accreditation For On-Line Education Program

Lightolier has announced that both the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the American Lighting Association (ALA) have accredited the company's free, on-line education program. AIA has awarded 13 Learning Units (LUs) and the ALA has awarded 9.5 Continuing Learning Credits (CLCs). All active AIA members must successfully complete 18 Learning Units hours per year to fulfill the CES (Continuing Education System) requirements for membership renewal. ALA requires 50 CLC credit hours every two years.

“Lessons In Lighting” begins with lighting fundamentals, and continues on to specific applications of different light sources, luminaires, ballasts and lighting controls, as well as the lighting design process. The program is now available with 19 lessons and a 100 question exam. All training can be accessed through Lightolier's web page, www.lightolier.com, by clicking on “Lessons In Lighting On-Line." Each lesson has been designed to be completed in 20-25 minutes, including a download time of less than five minutes with a 28.8 modem.
