Lighting Services Inc. (LSI), independent manufacturer of high end track, accent, display, fiber optic, and LED lighting systems, announced last week the appointment of Commercial Lighting Systems of Southampton, England as its UK distributor. Commercial Lighting will offer the full range of LSI track systems, including the acclaimed LumeLEX™ track-based solid-state (LED) spotlight.
Daniel Gelman, president of Lighting Services Inc., is looking to grow the company’s share of those markets in the UK. Speaking at Commercial Lighting Systems’ offices, where the contract was signed on August 9, Gelman said, “Our products have been specified in Europe since 1992, and we opened a UK operation in 2004. We are pleased with the additional market awareness and growth which that has given us, but having a national distributor will provide that extra edge.”
Formed in 1991, Commercial Lighting Systems represents three other manufacturers in the UK and manufactures its own range of fixtures. Managing director Phil Cutting said, “We were introduced to LSI by a consultant, and recommendations don’t come much higher than that. The LSI product range fits extremely well with our existing offering, and effectively broadens what we are able to offer to specifiers and consultants. Plus their approach to business is very similar to ours, which is vital for building a successful relationship.”
