The Lighting Practice Awards Scholarships

In the second year of its scholarship program, Philadelphia-based consultants The Lighting Practice recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to Shannon Zura, a graduate lighting design student in the Temple University theatre department, and to Patrick Yu, a fourth-year lighting design student in Pennsylvania State University's five-year Architectural Engineering program.

"We feel the scholarships are both an important investment in the lighting design profession and a good way to introduce our consulting firm to talented future lighting designers," says Alfred R. Borden IV, president of The Lighting Practice. Vice president Helen K. Diemer comments, "The Lighting Practice has supported the profession of lighting design since the firm was founded a dozen years ago. The students nominated by their professors for the scholarships can look forward to rewarding careers in lighting design."
