Lightfactor Sales announced a new UK distribution deal with Wireless Solutions from Sweden. Wireless Solutions' W-DMX--a wireless DMX system--was one of the PLASA 2004 Innovation Award recipients.
"We want to work with the best, and Lightfactor has a great reputation and is very well connected," says Wireless Solutions' Niclas Arvidson. "The two companies have actually already been acquainted with one another for some time, and like Lightfactor, Wireless Solutions is also a distributor for SGM moving lights."
"W-DMX fits perfectly into our product portfolio," says Lightfactor's Peter Coles. "It was the right product at the right time and the fact that it won the PLASA Award is extremely well timed and a further boost."
W-DMX was described as "taking wireless data to new levels" by the PLASA technology judges and was developed by engineers from a leading GSM phone manufacturer who are now working for Wireless Solutions. Advantages of wireless data transmission include robustness of the system, the ability to string multiple units together on the same bandwidth, and reduced interference.
