Lex Products Acquires Kimchuk Metal Processing

Lex Products Corp. announced the acquisition of the metal processing division of Kimchuk Inc. The business will be renamed KMP Division, Lex Products Corp.

KMP Inc. was founded as a metal processing company in 1972 and specializes in engineered sheet metal design and fabrication. It is housed in a stand alone 20,000-sq.ft. facility in Stamford, CT, 2 miles from Lex headquarters. “Lex intends to achieve three key goals with the KMP acquisition,” says Bob Luther, CEO of Lex Products Corp. “First, we want to enhance an already successful business by adding energy, enthusiasm, and business expertise. KMP will also strengthen Lex’s core electrical business by shortening the design cycle for key components and also reducing lead times on critical items. A third benefit arises from the fact that KMP had significant unused space, a rare commodity in Stamford. This space will immediately be used to expand Lex’s manufacturing capabilities."

To head up this new division, Barry Neumann has been promoted to general manager, KMP Division of Lex Products Corp. Neumann joined Lex Products Corp. in 2003 as plant manager and he has overseen a dramatic rise in production and successfully integrated manufacturing lines for several new products.

Neumann has enthusiastically embraced this new challenge for the simple reason that metal processing is in his blood. He first worked in his family’s metal stamping business in Germany when he was 14 years old and was manager of KMP (then Kimchuk, Inc.) for a period in the 1990s.
