Leviton Appoints Weigand As Product Manager

Leviton appointed David Weigand to the position of product manager for Lighting Management Systems. Weigand brings to his new post a diverse background in the lighting industry, including specification sales, national and regional sales management, and marketing design and construction.

In his new post at Leviton, Weigand will focus on developing and bringing to market products that champion the cause of lighting energy management. These include Leviton’s line of occupancy sensors, whole-building energy management controls, and daylight harvesting systems.

In a career spanning over 25 years, Weigand has worked in the lighting consulting, contracting, commercial construction and utility industries and other varied industries. He established energy incentive programs for Portland General Electric, Pacific Power, Washington Water Power, and the Bonneville Power Administration.

In private industry, he has worked as the manager of lighting and electrical standards for the Starbucks Coffee chain, where he developed standards for energy efficiency and created unique lighted environments that improved customer satisfaction. His also worked as a specification/contractor sales representative for Harry L. Stearns, Inc., Senior Engineer for A&C Enercom, Inc., and Electrical Designer for Interface Engineering Company.

Weigand has been active with state and national standards organizations on writing new energy codes and has served as a review consultant for California’s Title 24 development and ASHRAE/IES90.1 standard. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Portland State University.
