Audience scanning, where laser beams and effects touch people in the audience, has long been heavily regulated in the United States. Pangolin introduces a new technology in its Beyond Laser Control software that allows users to create audience scanning-style effects by combining a high-contrast video output with a laser. Traditional laser beam affects are displayed over the heads of people in the audience, while beam affects created by the video projector are then sent into the audience. The effect allows special effects and multimedia companies, as well as any entertainment venue, to add audience scanning-style effects in a safe manner.
