Michael S. Eddy, an 18-year veteran in the entertainment technology industry, will take over as LD and ED's full-time technical editor effective September 4.
Eddy will be finishing up a three-year stint as a systems integrator with Barbizon Electric. During his career, Eddy has also worked with leading entertainment technology companies such as: Rosco Laboratories in New York, Electronic Theatre Controls, and the ACMEcorp. Production Services, both in Wisconsin.
Eddy was technical editor for Lighting Dimensions and Theatre Crafts magazines in the late 1980s. "Over the past 18 years, Michael has accumulated valuable hands-on experience in this industry," said publisher Jacqueline Tien. "We look forward to his contributions not only as a journalist but also as a knowledgeable and informed industry professional." Said editorial director David Barbour, "With Michael onboard, both Lighting Dimensions and Entertainment Design's editorial teams will be able to effectively cover the products and technical issues that affect our readers."
Eddy will join the magazine and LDI staffs at the PLASA trade show in London, the AES show in New York in September, and at the LDI trade show in Orlando in November.
