The Rising Star Award, sponsored by LDI/Live Design, was presented to Kristen Martino at this year's USITT conference to freelance scenic designer Kristen Martino. After completing her MFA in Scenic Design at the University of Indiana, Martino has designed and been assistant designer on productions from Steppenwolf Theatre and the Goodman Theatre in Chicago to London's West End.
Before being honored with the Rising Star Award, Martino was part of the team selected to represent the United States by designing the USITT’s Emerging Artist Exhibit for the 2019 Prague Quadrennial.
