Daniel Bortz, the former co-owner of Angstrom Stage Lighting in Hollywood, CA, and James Schipper, Angstrom’s former VP of production, have joined with David Rosen, founder of Kinetic Event Productions in Los Angeles, as partners in a new venture, Kinetic Lighting. Inc.
Originally incorporated as Kinetic Event Productions in 1999, Kinetic Lighting offers turnkey lighting and large-format projection packages, design services, equipment rentals, and system consultations, as well as equipment and expendable sales.
As a result of the new partnership, Kinetic has expanded its inventory of rental equipment, both new and used sales stock, and warehouse supplies coming from the partnership split of Bortz’s previous company. “Our goal” says Schipper, “is to build strong, lasting relationships by combining our client’s need for an equipment vendor and the desire for a design team that is qualified to transform the nuts and bolts of an event into the art of illumination.” Since the formation of the new partnership, Kinetic Lighting has provided its services for a rapidly growing list of events including several 2003 Emmy Awards parties, VIP parties for Macy’s Passport LA, the Schwarzenegger for Governor campaign, the Autry Museum of Western Heritage 2003 gala, Landry’s Restaurants’ 2003 sales meeting, the daKAH hip-hop orchestra, the California Fisheries Association 2003 sales meeting, the Playa Vista Community’s opening celebrations, and a celebrity wedding. Kinetic has moved to a larger facility in the media district of Culver City, CA. The new contact information is Kinetic Lighting, Inc.
