Kathleen Marshall Joins EDDY Presenters

Broadway choreographer Kathleen Marshall will present John Lee Beatty with his EDDY Award at this year's EDDY ceremony, to be held at John Jay College Theatre on Friday, June 27. Marshall will replace previously announced presenter Walter Bobbie (director of the stage versions of Chicago and Footloose), who will be traveling internationally.

One of Broadway's most sought-after choreographers, Marshall's credits include Swinging on a Star, Seussical, and revivals of 1776, Follies, and Kiss Me, Kate. She was previously artistic director of the Encores! at City Center series, which presents concert versions of vintage musicals, where Beatty is set designer.

Marshall joins the previously announced lineup of presenters, which includes set designer Lauren Helpern, lighting designers Natasha Katz and Howell Binkley, Second Stage Theatre artistic director Carole Rothman, and designer/director Tony Walton.

The 2003 EDDY Awards are part of a weekend of professional training including the Broadway Lighting Master Classes, Broadway Sound Master Classes, and hands-on training offered in conjunction with ESTA. Complete information on all events is available at the BLMC/BSMC website.
